Rocio Garrote

Rocío Garrote began her circus career at the age of 16 in Argentina, where she took her first steps as a circus artist and teacher. She undertook extensive artistic and pedagogical training at renowned schools, both in Argentina (Circo Soq, La Arena, Unsam: University of the Circus and the Higher Institute of Physical Education Isef II, the safe flexibility course, a university degree in “Neurosciences and Neuropsychology Applied to High-Performance Sport”, and sports psychology at Austral University) and in Europe: the Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirque (ESAC) in Belgium.

For over ten years, Rocío has taught regularly at numerous schools in Argentina and Europe (La Arena, Maroma, Club Nueva Chicago, Circus Zonder Handen, the Brussels Circus School, Up Circus & Performing Arts, amongst others), as well as at professional circus schools that are members of FEDEC, such as:

ESAC – École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque in Brussels

CRAC – Regional Centre for Circus Arts in France

ACaPA – Professional Circus School in the Netherlands

CNAC – National Centre for Circus Arts in Châlons-en-Champagne, France.

She has developed training courses and workshops that provide solid tools, based on a methodology and teaching approach tailored to each individual, whether in a one-to-one or group setting.

Her aim is for all students to understand their discipline both theoretically and practically, as a fundamental part of their training programme, and to be able to apply it to their daily lives.

She currently organises, alongside Up Circus & Performing Arts and Aviva Rose Williams, the international Chinese pole gathering in Brussels, Belgium.
