Are you a student at a foreign institution?

Erasmus + In-Coming

The CNAC offers students enrolled at overseas institutions the opportunity to join its “National Higher Professional Diploma (DNSP) in Circus Arts” programme for a full academic year.

The CNAC has been awarded the Erasmus+ Quality Charter (European Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) for higher education for the period 2021–2027, based on its overall strategy statement.

Applications for the CNAC’s Erasmus programme are now closed.
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all applicants who submitted their applications. Our team will contact you by email to keep you informed of the outcome of your application.

The CNAC offers incoming Erasmus IN student mobility placements as part of its DNSP circus artist course for a compulsory full academic year.

The aim of the mobility programme is to enrich each student’s artistic and technical development and to give them the opportunity to actively build their own international network, based on exchanges and encounters.

The academic calendar is structured as follows:
First semester: early September to late January (exam period: January)
Second semester: early February to mid-July (exam period: May and June)

As an Erasmus IN student, you are required to sit all the exams for your semester in order to validate your stay and the credits, which will be recorded in your Learning Agreement.

1 - The deadline for submitting applications was 27 March 2026. Applications are now closed. Our team will get back to you shortly.

2 - Assessment of the application by the CNAC’s Academic Board

Once the application has been assessed, a selection panel will deliberate on it.
You will be sent a reply informing you whether your application has been successful or not.

3 - Drawing up the bilateral cooperation agreement and the study contract

As soon as your application is accepted, the Erasmus project coordinator at your institution must contact the relevant contact person at the CNAC (mathieu.antajan@cnac.fr) to draw up the necessary agreements for your placement.

All the information relating to student life in Châlons-en-Champagne is available here.

All courses on the programme are taught in French. The institution welcomes international students every year, and the teaching staff are able to adapt certain courses to be taught in English. Depending on the results of the language tests taken before you leave, you will also have the opportunity to take French language classes.

Erasmus + OUT

CNAC students are eligible for Erasmus exchanges to undertake a work placement or a year of study at partner institutions abroad.

The CNAC has been awarded the Erasmus+ Quality Charter (European Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) for higher education for the period 2021–2027, based on its overall strategy statement.

1 - Information and preliminary application

If you wish to undertake an internship or spend a full academic year at a foreign institution, please contact: mathieu.antajan@cnac.fr

When making this initial contact, you must have identified the foreign institution to which you wish to go on exchange. The CNAC can assist in establishing contact with the lecturer or the institution of your choice.

Following this initial discussion, your mobility application must be confirmed by a personal statement setting out your reasons for wishing to take part in the Erasmus programme.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Administrative procedures can be lengthy, and it is very important to submit your application at least one year in advance,
- You cannot undertake an exchange in your country of origin. For example, if you are an Italian national, you cannot apply for an exchange at an Italian institution. However, if you have completed your entire course of study in France, you may consider an Erasmus exchange in your country of origin.

2 - Évaluation de la demande par le conseil pédagogique et accord de la direction

Après étude de votre demande, le conseil pédagogique du CNAC donne un avis sur votre projet de mobilité, puis c’est la direction du CNAC qui valide votre projet.

3 - Mobility application to the host institution

If your mobility application is approved by the CNAC, you must submit your application to the institution of your choice. Each host institution has its own conditions and timetable for admitting students on mobility schemes. It is your responsibility to check with each institution regarding the application deadline and the documents required.

Please note that some institutions close applications at the end of January for the September intake.

4 - Drawing up the bilateral cooperation agreement and the study contract

As soon as your application is accepted, the CNAC’s Erasmus project coordinator must contact their counterpart at the host institution to draw up the necessary agreements for your placement.

5 - Approval of your mobility funding by the Erasmus+ France Agency

The CNAC’s administrative services will forward your application for a mobility grant to the Erasmus+ France Agency. You cannot submit your application yourself.
If your mobility application involves several host institutions, submitting a single application is sufficient.
The process of accepting applications can sometimes take a long time.

6 - Finalising your administrative enrolment at the CNAC

Your enrolment at the CNAC must be administratively in order (including payment of tuition fees) before your departure in order to receive your Erasmus grant.

Your Learning Agreement must be drawn up and approved before you set off on your mobility placement. Among other things, this agreement sets out the list of modules you will be taking during your mobility placement. The Learning Agreement must be signed by all three parties (your host institution, the CNAC and yourself). By signing this agreement, you undertake to take the modules specified.

At the end of the academic year, the credits (ECTS) earned during your exchange are automatically transferred to the CNAC, and the time spent on your exchange is counted towards your DNSP programme.

Any ‘exceptional’ amendments to the Learning Agreement must be approved, confirmed and signed by both institutions.

You can apply for financial support (a mobility grant) to cover your travel and living costs, depending on your destination and the duration of your stay. Only the French Erasmus+ Agency can provide precise details of the amount you will be awarded.

Once your application has been accepted, you must sign a grant agreement with the CNAC setting out the amount and the terms of payment.

PLEASE NOTE:

- The Agency may not award a grant to all mobility applications! Students whose application for this financial support is refused (Zero-EU grant students) but who meet all the conditions for going abroad may nevertheless apply for other forms of support or go abroad at their own expense.

- Students whose personal or family financial circumstances are precarious may apply for an additional grant (documents and evidence will be required to support this application).

The Erasmus Student Charter sets out your rights and responsibilities in relation to mobility programmes.
You can view it here.

An online language assessment is compulsory prior to your mobility period, depending on the language used for the courses you will be taking during your mobility (English, German, Dutch, Italian or Spanish).

The test is taken online via the Online Linguistic Support (OLS) learning platform, which assesses language skills – listening, reading and writing – in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Registration on the platform for the test is handled by the CNAC.

Depending on your proficiency in the language used at your host institution, you will have access to the OLS platform to take online language courses either before or during your mobility period.

In addition, the host institution may offer online language courses (lasting between 2 and 12 months) if your level is below the recommended level.

The European Health Insurance Card is essential; you can obtain one by visiting the European Union’s website.

Health insurance is compulsory for all students travelling abroad on an Erasmus exchange programme. This insurance is sometimes required at the time of application. It must include the following cover:

- travel insurance (including damage to or loss of luggage),
- third-party liability,
- accident and serious illness (including temporary or permanent disability),
- death (including repatriation).

Once you have signed your scholarship contract, you can start looking for accommodation. Your host institution must provide you with information on the accommodation options available to exchange students.

The CNAC’s international relations officer can also help you organise your exchange.
