Olivier Pasquet
Olivier began performing on the streets with theatrical and percussive acts characterised by strong political messages, particularly the fight against detention and support for undocumented migrants.
Then, after completing a DEUG in mathematics in 1998, he spent five years training at circus schools in Montpellier, Rosny (ENACR) and Châlons (CNAC).
He performed on the Korean trapeze in the graduation show Le Cirqle, directed by Roland Schön, which toured in 2003–2004. This was followed by extensive training in the Hungarian teeterboard and aerial lifts, notably the banquine.
He was involved in the creation of Cheptel Aleikoum (a collective formed by his cohort) as well as in almost all its productions since, and more particularly in the circus-fanfare group Circa Tsuica. Opus 2 (2006), Fanfarerie Nationale (2009), Opus 7 (2012), Maintenant ou jamais (under the big top 2014), (V)îvre (under the big top 2020), Octopus (2023).
From 2014 onwards, the brass band began working on acrobatic cycling as a collective, a discipline they have continued ever since.
Olivier has also been involved in projects with several companies:
- Le cirque de la bavette for the show Bringue-Ballant (flying trapeze)
- La compagnie Parole Nomade for the show L’heure Bleue (dance – trampoline)
The Chabatz d’Entrar company for the show Mobile (board acrobatics)
In 2009, he completed his own project: Croâssance, a wild trampoline solo.
Since 2020, he has been developing and producing creative projects with amateur performers: two productions in care homes, one in a centre for people with disabilities, two with a music school, and others in schools, such as a parade with 100 secondary school pupils from La Courneuve.
At Le Cheptel, he manages the day-to-day running of the venue in Saint Agil (41), organises events and, above all, oversees artist residencies, which enable the company to provide genuine support for circus creation under the big top.
