Niels Mertens
Niels Mertens, originally from Belgium, moved to France to pursue his higher education and has continued to live there ever since. A graduate of ECDF in Anvers, a school renowned for its Korean trapeze programme, Niels began his circus studies in 2018.
He specialised in Korean trapeze, first at Enacr and then at CNAC. These courses provided him with a wide range of skills, including physical theatre, contemporary dance and the analysis and writing of live performances.
During his final two years at the CNAC, Niels sought to broaden his circus repertoire by practising acrobatic lifts and the Hungarian swing under the guidance of Rémy Balagué and Sébastien Brun.
