Mourad Bouayad
The Parisian choreographer, dancer and actor Mourad Bouayad explores a variety of artistic fields. With a background in hip-hop, he finds in contemporary dance the freedom to break down the aesthetic boundaries of movement. A performer with the Batsheva Ensemble and a certified Gaga teacher, he also stars in Hakim Belabbes’s upcoming feature film, as well as in Sofia Alaoui’s next film. As a choreographer, in addition to his commercial choreographies for Adi Halfin and the Swire Group, he has created works for the Palais de Chaillot with the author Edmond Baudoin, for the Arab World Institute with the video artist Paul Lamy, and recently at L’Olympia with À l’Unisson, an inclusive piece with Arnaud Assoumani, bringing together amateurs, professionals, athletes and people with disabilities to explore the question of the threshold between belonging and difference.
