Lucien Reynes
Mentor of the 39th class
Acrobatic choreographer
Although he took up circus arts relatively late in life, Lucien quickly joined ENACR and then CNAC in 2003.
He is obsessed with disrupting his own gravity. Beyond his practice of trampoline/dance, the teeterboard, or floor acrobatics, he devises pieces in which the body is no longer the initiator of movement, but is acted upon, manipulated by a system external to itself.
He has worked in the worlds of circus, dance, theatre and performance, collaborating with, amongst others, La Scabreuse, Cie In vitro, Yves Nöel Genod, Cahin-Caha, Yoann Bourgeois, Rabbit Research, etc...
In 2014, Naïf Production was founded, an artistic cooperative of which he is a founding member, alongside Mathieu Desseigne-Ravel and Sylvain Bouillet. It is a non-hierarchical organisation that approaches creation as an entirely collective process, centred on themes of imbalance, resistance and effort.
The trio created Je suis fait du bruit des autres in 2014, La Mécanique des ombres in 2016, and Des Gens qui dansent - Petite histoire des quantités négligeables in 2018.
In 2021, Lucien initiated the project "GRAVITROPIE - Une somme de désordres possibles‘, and revisits his circus-inspired obsessions with an active space. Currently in the creative process for POLEMIQUE et UNE PEDAGOGIE DU CONFLIT, Lucien is currently conducting research into connection and human relationships through the adaptation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
