He was born in late January 1992, in the heart of Provence. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, he grew up in the shade of the hills under the blazing sun, surrounded by the Verdon River and the sound of cicadas. At age six, he took up gymnastics, dreaming of becoming a firefighter, a stuntman, or a gymnast. At twelve, he gave up gymnastics to devote himself to hip-hop. At fifteen, he formed his first breakdance crew with his friends and spent his high school years training and competing in battles.

Seeking training as a stuntman after earning his STI diploma, he turned to the circus. He auditioned with another dancer at the Balthazar Center for Circus Arts in Montpellier. For a year, he trained in trampoline and floor acrobatics there, then spent two years at the National School of Circus Arts in Rosny-sous-Bois (Enacr) specializing in Chinese rings: first in a quartet, then in a duo. Taking different paths, the two partners parted ways, and Johan joined the Centre national des arts du cirque (Cnac) in Châlons-en-Champagne.

After six months of solo training on the Chinese rings, and with a well-developed technical repertoire, Johan turned his focus to trampoline and acro-dance, which he blended with breakdancing. There he found the best means of expressing and conveying his joy for the stage and acrobatics.
