It all begins in a bathtub… a great plunge into life, in Belgium on 6 August 2000.

Then, thanks to her parents’ life choices, Elena grows up in the Drôme region of France, where she discovers circus arts. Workshops lead her to the circus arts program at middle school in the Cité scolaire du Diois.

Already finding great pleasure in all kinds of manual, physical, and artistic activities, she learns sewing and practices music for several years.

She works hard to be admitted to the École nationale de cirque de Châtellerault, where she spends three formative years within a cohort that deeply marks her. There, with some peers, grows an increasing desire for shared projects, living and training spaces, and diverse artistic productions. It is also there that she begins specializing in swinging trapeze.

This discipline, chosen partly for the intense sensations it provides, quickly becomes the source of many questions and constraints—technical, artistic, dramaturgical, material, relationships to the ground, to rigging, to the audience, and more. A complexity that becomes both a challenge and a driving force for reflection.

She continues her training with this apparatus at the ENACR for a preparatory year. During this time, she works on projects within her training alongside Dominique Bettenfeld, Bertrand Bossard, and Kaori Ito.

Deeply inspired by Parisian opportunities, she discovers the Cirque Électrique, where she spends a lot of time, makes many encounters, and occasionally performs on stage. It is during this period that Zozo / a bird comes to cling to her calf and has since been pecking at her thoughts.

She then joins Châlons-en-Champagne to continue her training at the Centre national des arts du cirque. She has the opportunity to take part in a repertoire revival with Guy Alloucherie and the company HVDZ.

Elena is drawn to the exploration of metamorphosis, interested in transformation, manipulation, and illusion—frameworks and pathways offered by her apparatus, which she seeks to transcend.

She enjoys questioning and rethinking the norms and codes that shape contemporary society. These reflections continue to inhabit her, feeding both her life and the starting point of her stage work.

Today, she hopes to continue her artistic journey through the blending of different disciplines, encounters, and discoveries in the performing arts, while remaining strongly committed to collective creation.
