Piergiorgio Milano

Piergiorgio Milano began his professional career in 2002 at the Flic circus school in Turin, before moving to Toulouse in 2004 to study at Le Lido – Centre des arts du cirque. This period proved pivotal in his career, reinforcing his calling for contemporary dance. In 2006, he continued to develop his artistic language at the SNDO (School for New Dance Development) in Amsterdam. During this time, he also co-founded the 320chili collective, one of the pioneering groups in contemporary circus in Italy.

From 2008 to 2014, he collaborated with internationally renowned choreographers such as James Thierrée, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and David Zambrano. From 2015 onwards, however, he has focused his work primarily on creating and staging his own repertoire, which now comprises four stage productions and three site-specific works. He also continues, to a lesser extent, his collaborations as a performer, notably with the revival of the solo piece L’Absolu by Boris Gibè’s company Les Choses de Rien.

“I seek to explore and blur the boundaries between dance, acrobatics and theatre; I have always been drawn to multifaceted expression; I do not have a defined career path within a single category, but rather a journey across different fields of art and movement. This is  the answer to  my need  to gain  as much experience as possible; only then does artistic creation feel complete and fulfilling to me.”
