Trained at the Centre National des Arts du Cirque, Julie Tavert has pursued a multidisciplinary career and gained experience as a performer working with numerous directors and choreographers, including Fabrice Melquiot, Nedjma Benchaïb, Karim Sebbar, Gilles Baron and Mathurin Bolze. A pioneer as a female floor acrobat in the circus, Julie composes movement based on her unique style: acrodance. In 2015, she co-created the solo piece Je suis nombreuse with director Charlotte Lagrange. In 2016, she co-choreographed the solo Souffle by Florence Caillon / Cie L’éolienne. In 2017, she co-founded the collective Femmes de Crobatie

Since 2017, she has been teaching her methodology, Danser l’acrobatie, and joined the teaching team at the CNAC in 2022. For the past 15 years, she has developed expertise in integrating acrobatics and dance into stage productions, through her work on practice, choreography and pedagogical transmission. In 2021, she founded her company La Nekuia and created her first work, Automne en 2024: an intimate and political choreographed circus piece. She also works with various artists on the physicalisation and movement aspects of their creations.
