Jean-Yves Phuong

Jean-Yves Phuong is a dancer, performer and choreographer. His approach to the body draws inspiration from both dance and martial arts. Trained in classical, contemporary and hip-hop dance, his early experiences with dance companies were shaped by the convergence of these diverse worlds.
He has collaborated as a performer with choreographers such as Marco Cantalupo and Kartazyna Gdaniec, Maud Le Pladec, Raphaëlle Boitel, Sylvère Lamotte and Yoann Bourgeois. These experiences have fuelled his exploration of movement, the body in motion and its mechanics, as well as the relationships the body maintains with its environment, within a broader approach to the performing arts.
In 2018, he co-founded the Nokt collective with Alexandre Bachelard, within which they strive to invent unique creative spaces and explore their modes of existence.
