In 2017, Uma left her International British (OIB) program at Lycée Vaugelas to fully commit to her passion for circus, joining the Sport-Études program at Lycée Louis Armand and the professional and amateur training school Arc-en-Cirque in Chambéry. She specialized as a flyer (banquine, Russian bar, aerial trapeze, and aerial frame).
After completing her baccalaureate, she was selected, together with her partner Antonin Cucinotta, for the preparatory program for major circus schools at Piste d’Azur, near Cannes. There, they refined their technique in traditional partner acrobatics under the guidance of Frédéric Loret.
Uma also trained in Chinese pole, with guidance from Antonin Cucinotta as well as Adrien Frétard and Anouck Blanchet from Cie Circo Zoé, and Maria Del Mar Reyes Saez and Hugo Ragetly from Cie Si Seulement.
In 2021, she joined the Centre National des Arts du Cirque (CNAC) in Châlons-en-Champagne, where she was selected as a Chinese pole flyer. Over the three years of training, she and Antonin Cucinotta developed an acrobatic vocabulary at the intersection of partner work and Chinese pole.
In parallel, Uma is also a visual artist and graphic designer, using her sense of color and charcoal linework to feed her circus universe.
They graduated in 2024 with a piece titled Noyau, exploring the complexity of human bonds, constraint, and emancipation, presented at the Furies festival, and completed their training by performing as interpreters in Brûler d’envies 🔥 directed by Martin Palisse and David Gauchard.
