I was born on 16 August 2002. I grew up all over the place, including Réunion and various French departments.
It was my dad who chose my first name, thinking it was an original one; that year, it was the 21st most popular name in France.
You missed the mark, Dad, but you gave it a go.
When I was 8, I had my first ‘stunt’ thanks to my grandmother. She precariously propped a ladder against the trunk of a cherry tree so I could pick the fruit. To fetch a basket, she decided to let go of the ladder. Ever since, she’s been convinced that it was that moment that gave me a taste for stunts. Thanks, Granny!
At 14, I wanted to become a stuntman and, because Google recommended it, my mum introduced me to the Châtellerault Circus School, where I joined the 21st intake. There, I discovered the Korean seesaw and working as part of a team; I fell completely in love with the circus. Thanks, Mum!
At the same time, I learnt to play the electric guitar.
I continued my journey at ENACR and met the other half of the collective.
After tears, pain and sweat, I decided to carry on at the CNAC, where, together with the collective, we’re working on our technical research into balancing and handstands. Since then, I’ve been learning to champion a collective approach and to make wool chains in my spare time. I’m still playing the electric guitar and, when the opportunity arises, I take it back on stage for live music.
When time allows, I work on designing costumes made of wool.
I followed the “Chatel, Rosny, CNAC” route – a classic path, as they say.
I’ve discovered many things: the fact that I spin to the left, my love for transfers, and a helicopter ride.
With the collective, we’re setting up our own company and will soon be staging our first show.
