José Luis was born in the southernmost country in the world. This young artist began his artistic journey at the humble Azulvioleta Cultural Center, where he explored singing, percussion, and African dance. These early experiences led him to his first circus school, El Circo del Mundo (Chile). For five years, he participated in the Mini-Compañia social program with children and young people aged 7 to 18, specializing in various aerial disciplines.
Then, at the age of 18, he joined a professional circus training program and, for four years, specialized in handstands and aerial silks. The winds of the South met those of the North, leading him to join the 25th class of the National Center for Circus Arts (CNAC) at the age of 24. There, he continued and developed his exploration of the discipline of the tightrope.
In the world of this curious man, emotions are a fundamental axis of creation. Through them, he seeks to narrate and liberate the hidden or underlying registers of our society’s body.
