After a background rich in amateur pursuits—nine years of classical violin, two years of theater, and six years of juggling, acrobatics, and partner acrobatics at the Valérie Fratellini Circus School in Limours (91)—and after earning a science-focused high school diploma, Basile was accepted into the École nationale des arts du cirque de Rosny-sous-Bois (Enacr). He didn’t dream of becoming a flyer; his body simply led him there. And ever since he experienced the joy of “close-contact aerial work” while carrying Victoria Martinez on the Korean trapeze, he can’t imagine stopping.
Alongside his work as a flyer, Basile has continued to play the violin, ranging from classical to traditional music and all forms of improvisation, and has developed a highly unique approach to his instrument, blending musical performance with acrobatic moves.
