Andrea was born in Italy in 2002. As a child, he dreamt of competing in the Olympic Games on the horizontal bar: he would practise on the sofa at home and show his parents his early progress.
From a very early age, he was introduced to the world of the arts and movement through hip-hop, dancing to Michael Jackson’s routines in amateur classes in his town. At the same time, he took up music lessons and learnt to play the violin and the harp.
In 2011, his mother took him to the incredible Fuma che’ nduma circus school, an environment that became fundamental to him. Andrea discovered the performing arts and trained there, inspired by the values of community. He explored various disciplines – juggling, aerial silks, unicycling and floor balancing – until he discovered the fixed trapeze, from which he never wanted to come down.
In 2021, he moved to France to join the École de Cirque de Bordeaux, where he created his first 20-minute piece as part of the Tremplin Cirque project. During these two years of training, he developed as an artist and trapeze artist, working with Antoine Linsale, Elisa Bitschnau, Raphaëlle Boitel and others.
In 2022, he had a dream about his late grandmother smiling at him and was accepted onto the ESACTO Lido course in Toulouse. However, he decided not to go so that he could complete the course he had started in Bordeaux.
In 2023, he joined the Centre National des Arts du Cirque (CNAC), where he met Delphine Lanson, Eva Ordonez, Fragan Gehlker and Anna Tauber, figures who became a source of inspiration for him. In Châlons-en-Champagne, he continued his exploration of the trapeze, delving deeper into the concept of dynamics and seeking the approach best suited to his tall frame and sensibility. He questioned the notions of balance and imbalance, exploring lightness, fluidity of movement and stage presence.
Andrea is pursuing a personal artistic journey that combines technique, movement and the human dimension. Now, a single trapeze is no longer enough for him: he feels the desire to explore and experiment with what his body can create anew.
