Research Residency – Lucile Bony
The CNAC Resource Centre is hosting Lucile Bony, a PhD student at the University of Strasbourg, on a research residency. She was selected following the CNAC’s ‘Support for Circus Research 2026’ call for proposals for her project ‘Thinking about and healing the artist’s wounds: dramaturgy and contemporary circus practices’.
Lucile examines the emergence of a dramaturgy of injury, as well as the renewal of practices on contemporary circus stages, based on this transformed – or even disabled – body. Her work draws in particular on a cross-disciplinary study of performances and artists’ career paths, with a view to exploring how injury can be narrated, represented and understood by artists.
