Serge Tranvouez Biography


Serge Tranvouez has a degree in French and trained at the Institut Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle in Brussels. He worked as an actor mainly with Didier-Georges Gabily and Joël Jouanneau before directing his own shows with his company

In 1995 he put on Claudels's Partage du Midi and was awarded the critics' union prize. In 1998, he was associate director at the Saint-Denis Gérard Philippe theatre, managed by Stanislas Nordey. He directed first and foremost contemporary plays, and his most recent shows, two plays by Jean Adureau, were performed at the Theatre de la Ville and the Comédie Française in Paris.

In parallel to his creative work, he has developed a teaching career in numerous schools, theatres and universities.
